What is an eco footprint ?
Okay so here's what I know (and there's a lot I don't know yet believe me):
what we eat, how we live, how we travel, the goods & services we use etc these all create our individual "eco" footprint.
Why measure my footprint?
Well, if I measure my individual eco footprint then I begin to see how many planets it would take to support everyone in the world, if everyone lived the way I did. (just typing that makes me slightly nauseated and part of me wants to immediately switch over to Netflix)
Ok but still why do that, it sounds way less fun that the movies.
I want to be a bigger part of looking after the care of this amazing planet. I want to try to assure my great great grandchildren have oceans to sail across and mountains full of forests to explore. And part of my heritage (Native American Indian) knows that living in harmony with the earth is what makes sense. Now the crazy bit is Chris Darwin thinks I can get myself under one planet. I have my doubts about that but I am always up for a healthy challenge.
